We are pleased to mark the completion of Holborn Viaduct, PLP’s latest office HQ building in the City of London. Designed for Royal London Asset Management, the development delivers an adaptive workplace with wellbeing-focused amenities, immersed in heritage, archaeology and public art.

Holborn Viaduct transforms a challenging site on a nine-metre level change into a connected, accessible and people-focused destination, introducing new public spaces and a step-free route between Holborn Viaduct and Farringdon Street for the first time. Situated along one of London’s most historic routes, the scheme was shaped by the discovery of significant Roman and medieval archaeology. These findings informed a placemaking approach that celebrates the site’s unique history, including a landmark public artwork by Harold Offeh.

Rooted in circular economy principles, the building incorporates reused structural steel, reclaimed Portland stone and low-carbon materials.

"Many of the project’s defining qualities emerged from constraints that we chose to embrace as catalysts for design – from incorporating reused materials throughout the building and its façade to transforming the protection of existing trees into an expanded public realm with new public connections. What makes the building successful is that these decisions are not treated as separate layers, but as part of a single architectural language that gives the project a clear identity and a strong sense of place."
