About

Located on Al Maryah Island, Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi brings hospitality, residences and public life together in one of the city’s most prominent waterfront settings. The development is anchored by a 200-room luxury hotel and is designed to engage directly with the public realm, creating a more connected and human-scaled urban experience within Abu Dhabi’s financial district.

The building is organised around a carefully activated ground plane, where hotel, residential and conference uses are brought together through a series of landscaped arrival spaces, shaded gardens and pedestrian routes. Stepping down towards the waterfront, the podium introduces retail, cafés and a colonnaded waterside walk that extends the life of the hotel into the wider city.

Above, a 34-storey tower rises from the podium with a façade designed to bring depth, shade and texture to the skyline. Layers of terracotta screening filter light, soften solar exposure and respond to the region’s climate while giving the building a more tactile and contextually resonant identity.

Rather than operate as an isolated object, the project is conceived as part of a wider urban sequence, where arrival, movement and hospitality are closely tied to the surrounding public realm. Gardens, shared spaces and waterfront connections help position the hotel as both a destination and an active part of the city. This approach reflects a broader ambition to create hospitality environments that are not only premium in experience, but more open, connected and responsive to how people move through the city.
