Mariangeles Fernandez is a specialist architect with expertise in tall buildings and high‑performance façades. As a Director at PLP Architecture, she leads façade design, technical coordination and quality delivery on complex projects. Her work spans office, hospitality, retail, and residential developments across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Mariangeles has played a key role in delivering some of PLP Architecture’s most technically complex projects in London, with a strong focus on tall buildings, façade and structural detail design, balancing design with technical and construction expertise to deliver well-executed projects She is currently leading the façade and atrium package for the Hogan Lovells headquarters at Holborn Viaduct. She was also a core member of the project team for 22 Bishopsgate, PLP’s landmark tower in the City of London, where she played an active role on the façade and cladding design, coordinated complex interfaces and oversaw quality inspections on one of the tallest and most intricate buildings in the capital. In Europe, Mariangeles was part of PLP’s competition‑winning team for the Yandex Headquarters in Moscow, where she led structural coordination across multiple design phases, to integrate architectural, structural and MEP requirements within a large, light‑filled campus and designed the building’s feature stairs and bridges, contributing to the delivery of a distinctive atrium. In the Middle East, she contributed to the façade design and detailing of the Ministry of Civil Services Headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
