About

Rising 278 metres across 62 storeys in the heart of London’s financial district, 22 Bishopsgate is the tallest tower in the City and one of the capital’s most significant new workplace buildings. Its distinctive 23-sided faceted form responds to protected views across London while establishing a calm and powerful presence within the eastern cluster. Designed to accommodate up to 12,000 people across more than 100 companies, the building is conceived as a vertical neighbourhood that supports a wide range of working, social and public experiences.

Designed around the wellbeing of its users, the building integrates approximately 100,000 sq ft of amenity space beyond the office floors, including a wellness retreat, London’s largest active commuter park, a gym, food market, co-working floors, conferencing facilities, three Gordon Ramsay restaurants and Europe’s highest public viewing gallery. This extensive amenity offer supports a more human-centred and adaptable model of workplace design, where productivity is balanced with comfort, community and everyday convenience.

At ground level, the project improves pedestrian movement through the City cluster, introducing new public realm and strengthening connections to the surrounding streets. Higher up, the building opens itself to the city through a rich mix of social, cultural and public-facing destinations, extending its role beyond that of a private workplace into a more civic urban destination.

Technically, 22 Bishopsgate reflects a new generation of high-performance office design. Its closed-cavity façade improves daylight, comfort and energy performance, while integrated smart technologies support a more seamless and responsive user experience throughout the building. Together, these strategies position the tower as a new model for how large-scale workplaces can support both people and city life.

"22 Bishopsgate has been designed to enhance the quality of life of its occupants by adding amenities which make the work experience more enjoyable and effective."

“22 Bishopsgate redefines the workplace as a vertical village, where wellbeing, community and city life are integrated throughout the building.”

A Vertical Village

The programme is distributed throughout the tower to create a layered workplace environment that supports far more than office use alone. Amenities, social spaces, food, fitness, conferencing and public destinations are integrated across the height of the building, shaping a more connected and human-centred experience from ground to skyline.

A New Civic Arrival

The entrance is designed to create a strong sense of arrival while opening the building more generously to the city. Through scale, transparency and movement, it establishes a threshold that feels both civic and welcoming within the dense urban fabric of the Square Mile.

22 Bishopsgate brings together one of the most extensive amenity offers in any workplace building, including wellness, fitness, food, conferencing, social space and public destinations distributed throughout the tower to support a more complete and human-centred way of working.
