PLP Labs wins Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with University of Westminster
In August of 2025, PLP Labs and Dr Ana Gatóo, Lecturer in Regenerative Design at the University of Westminster, were awarded a 32-month UKRI-funded KTP. The grant is dedicated to developing a commercially viable, flexible, and affordable timber partition a new housing typology.
By the end of the grant, we will have designed and fabricated a (A) bio-based architectural prototype with integrated flexible timber partitions and a methodology for engaging communities, clients, planners, lenders, insurers, and other critical stakeholders; (B) a guide for implementing the building model within UK and international supply chains; (C) A library of interchangeable bio-based materials tailored to varied regional and climatic contexts.
