PLP Architecture Releases New Film Exploring its Circular Studio Fit-out

PracticeNOV 10 / 2025

The four-minute film features COO Mark Kelly, Studio Designer Michael Polisano and Sustainability Coordinator Deepthi Ravi, who share how the team approached their own office move as a live experiment in circular design – rethinking waste, extending the life of materials, and creating a space that reflects PLP’s collaborative and forward-looking ethos.

By reusing and repurposing 92% of materials across both their old and new spaces, the team achieved a 68% cost reduction and saved 175 tonnes of carbon compared to a traditional London office fit-out. The result is a studio that feels fresh, flexible and deeply connected to the practice’s work – with details such as terrazzo worktops made in collaboration with Solus Ceramics, crafted from material samples of past PLP projects including 60 Curzon, 4 Cannon Street and Park Modern.

The project was delivered with the support of Maconda, who led material passporting and reuse data, and Method, who oversaw the design, build and furniture integration. Together, the collaboration illustrates a replicable model for sustainable office design, one that challenges conventional definitions of waste while celebrating ingenuity and craft.
