About

Located within the wider Tokyo Cross Park development, NTT Hibiya Tower is one of Japan’s most advanced mixed-use towers and a key component of a major new district in central Tokyo. Rising 230 metres and comprising 361,000m², the building brings together premium workplace, innovation, culture, hospitality and public space within a single vertical destination. Positioned beside Hibiya Park and integrated with the surrounding transport network, it is designed to strengthen the relationship between architecture, infrastructure and city life.

At its core is IOWN, NTT’s light-based digital infrastructure, which enables the building to operate as a highly responsive and future-facing workplace environment. Rather than treating technology as an overlay, the tower is conceived around a new digital backbone that supports real-time collaboration, low-latency connectivity and significantly reduced energy use. This creates a more adaptive workplace ecosystem, where environments can respond dynamically to changing patterns of use, occupancy and interaction.

The building also extends beyond the idea of a conventional headquarters. A three-storey Cross Gate forms a public-facing urban threshold at its base, combining retail, culture and civic activity in a highly visible and accessible setting. Above, an innovation hub and cultural spaces create opportunities for collaboration, exchange and public engagement, helping to position the tower as a platform for co-creation as much as a place of work.

As part of the wider Tokyo Cross Park vision, NTT Hibiya Tower reflects a broader ambition to create a more connected, intelligent and human-centred district in the heart of the city. It is conceived not simply as a tower, but as an urban prototype for how architecture, technology and public life can come together in the next generation of Tokyo.
