About
Working with Derwent London, the project reimagines the structure as a high-performing workplace that significantly reduces embodied carbon through retention of the original frame and basement.
Opposite Burberry’s global headquarters at Horseferry House, the project strengthens the brand’s presence in Westminster with a workspace defined by craft, context and performance. The design weaves retained elements with new interventions, achieving significant time and carbon savings through adaptive reuse. The façade’s composition subtly echoes the geometry of the Burberry check, its proportions reinterpreting the brand’s sense of order and balance within a finely detailed masonry framework. Deep reveals and bronze-framed glazing add depth and material richness, repositioning the eleven-storey building within its historic setting and balancing modern precision with a distinctly British character.
At ground level, a landscaped courtyard replaces plant rooms with light-filled green spaces that enhance wellbeing and privacy. Inside, bespoke layouts and new environmental systems support flexibility and long-term efficiency. 1 Page Street has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification, aligning design and sustainability with brand identity to create a workplace of enduring quality.
