Andrei Martin Featured in Property Insider on the Future of Vertical Urbanism in Warsaw

“The 21st-century tower is no longer just a solitary icon. It is becoming a tool of urban repair – a vertical extension of the city that contributes to public life, environmental performance and cultural identity. Skyscrapers are beginning to act less like monoliths and more like living organisms – breathing, adapting and giving back.”
Andrei Martin, Partner, PLP Architecture
PLP Architecture Partner Andrei Martin has been featured in the latest issue of Property Insider magazine, contributing an article to a special edition exploring the rapid transformation of Warsaw’s skyline and the future of Polish skyscrapers.
Drawing on PLP’s experience designing tall buildings around the world – including 22 Bishopsgate in London and Park Nova in Singapore – Andrei offers a considered perspective on the potential for Poland’s high-rises to act not as isolated icons, but as vertical communities that contribute meaningfully to city life.
In the article, Andrei explores how Warsaw’s newest developments – from Ghelamco’s Warsaw UNIT to Grupa Capital Park’s Norblin Factory – are reshaping expectations of what towers can do. He highlights three lessons for future development: design towers that stitch the street into the sky; stack communities, not just floors; and use intelligent systems to give back to the city.
Through the lens of PLP’s projects, the article demonstrates how skyscrapers can be more than architectural landmarks – they can become adaptive, sustainable ecosystems that support healthier, more connected urban lives.
