Seoul Forest Tower
Seoul, South Korea
Seoul Forest Tower is a new workplace model for Seoul, shaped by bespoke design guidelines developed by PLP for SK D&D.
About
These guidelines shape the building’s architectural identity, informing its emphasis on wellbeing, daylight, flexibility and the integration of nature. The design signals a shift in the Korean market, away from valuing floorspace alone and towards recognising the quality of space as the true measure of worth.
Positioned at a prominent junction in Seong Su, the tower combines premium workspace with flagship retail in a neighbourhood defined by creativity and experimentation. At its centre is an 18 metre-high social hub set at the height of the neighbouring railway, forming a dramatic, light-filled space that encourages interaction and collaboration among the building’s diverse community of users.
The architecture strengthens the district’s evolving character. A glass block base creates a permeable and welcoming street presence while buffering sound from the elevated rail line. Above, bronze and copper tones reinterpret Seong Su’s distinctive red-brick landscape in a contemporary way.
Views towards Seoul Forest and the Han River anchor the scheme in its natural surroundings. Terraces and planting introduce a miniature “Seoul Forest” into the building, while rooftop photovoltaic panels help meet Seoul’s new sustainability standards and support a forward-looking model for future developments.

“Seoul Forest Tower introduces a new workplace model for Seoul, where flexibility, wellbeing and nature come together in the heart of Seong Su.”

Rooted in Seong Su
The architecture draws on the district’s industrial character through bronze and copper tones that reinterpret Seong Su’s red-brick identity. A glass block base creates a more permeable street presence while helping to buffer sound from the elevated rail line.
