Position

We are seeking a seeking an experienced Bids Manager to provide maternity cover in the team, supporting the Practice’s business development and bidding team. Working as part of a bidding team of two, this is a fixed-term maternity cover role for an experienced bids professional who will lead and coordinate high-quality bid submissions across UK and international opportunities, working closely with partners, project teams and the wider business development function.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrable experience and understanding of the architectural bid management process
  2. Lead and manage the bids department (currently a team of two), providing direction, oversight, and professional development.
  3. Experience of preparing and coordinating bid submissions (3-5 years) with a knowledge of the RFP process both in the UK and internationally
  4. An understanding of the design and procurement process and a knowledge of contractual matters would be an advantage.
  5. Coordinating input from partners and project teams
  6. Tailoring CVs, case studies and standard content
  7. Maintaining bid library/content database
  8. Reviewing quality, accuracy and compliance of submissions
  9. Supporting interview preparation and presentation materials
  10. Tracking opportunities and bid outcomes
  11. Maintaining sub-consultant relationships
  12. Managing vendor portals and ensuring registrations are up to date
  13. Supporting global business development
  14. Overseeing and maintaining PLP's CRM database

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  1. An architectural background or a strong interest in architecture, construction, and the creative processes.
  2. Is self-disciplined, entrepreneurial, and confident in a creative environment, who can work independently as well as part of a team.
  3. Excellent communication and organisation skills, as well as a talent for writing concisely and clearly.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach.
  5. Keen to learn with a flexible attitude, able to work effectively under the pressure and to meet deadlines.
  6. Has strong organisational, administrative and document production skills
  7. Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.
