Currently under construction in the City of London, Twentytwo is an innovative new type of skyscraper that is obsessed with enabling the changing nature of work and embracing and enhancing occupant health and wellbeing. When complete later this year, the tower will house 11,500 people cross more than 100 companies in an ecosystem that amplifies their beliefs, culture and vision. It will become a new focal point for the City’s skyline and help to anchor its diverse mix of architectural styles.

 

The building’s floorplates permit flexible and adaptable layouts, while internal staircases encourage connectivity, activity and overall wellbeing. Over ten percent of internal space will be devoted to a variety of amenities ranging from business lounges, a club and meeting rooms to a full-service spa, gymnasium and market. These have been dispersed vertially to help encourage the formation of an integrated vertical community.

At the ground floor, the lobby is a triple-height public space that includes an art gallery with a changing programme of exhibits and commissioned works flanked by a library. Above this, an entire floor devoted to food and will be filled with restaurants as well as event spaces and an outdoor terrace. On the building’s top floor, a free public viewing gallery will be the tallest of its kind in Europe. It will sit alongside the highest public restaurants in London, which will serve as additional public amenity destinations.

 

Technology is everywhere in the building. When complete, Twentytwo will be WiredScore Platinum certified. Access control is based on face recognition and a custom app will enable tenants to control their environment, to connect socially and to explore, access and book services and events. The building also provides the most comprehensive bicycle storage facilities in London. It has been designed to achieve both a BREEAM Excellent rating as well as a WELL Certification.
