The Edge wins AIA Continental Europe Awards 2015 Environmental Design Award

PLP was awarded the Environmental Design Award at the AIA Continental Europe Awards 2015 held in Vienna on October 3rd 2015 for its project The Edge, located in Zuidas, Amsterdam. Partner, Kevin Flanagan was there on behalf of PLP to accept.


The building, developed by OVG Real Estate, sets a new global benchmark for the office environment by prioritising the comfort, health and productivity of its end-users. The project is the world’s most sustainable office building, having been awarded the highest rating ever recorded by the Building Research Establishment, the global assessor of sustainable buildings. By employing innovative smart technology, the project achieved a BREEAM new construction certification of ‘Outstanding’ and a score of 98.36 per cent.


The Environmental Design Award was intended to recognize exemplary sustainable design in the planning and execution of a project that has considered all strategies for reduced environmental impact. Projects were judged on how successfully they integrated sustainability and energy efficient strategies into their design. PLP are delighted to have been recognised internationally for their contribution to environmentally motivated workplace design.
