PLP’s Bogdan Rusu wins Dutch ‘Young Architects Prize’ 2015
Bogdan Rusu won the Dutch ‘Young Architects Prize’ 2015. His project ‘A silent hut’, was designed as a relaxing retreat in the allotment gardens of Rotterdam for jury president Wim van Krimpen, first director of Kunsthal and one of the most respected figures in the Dutch art world.
The design combines vernacular themes present in the surroundings with contemporary elements, resulting in a sensible intervention which respects the nature and highlights its beauty. Seeking for a discrete, Le Corbusier-like hut, Wim van Krimpen described the design as the ‘beauty of simplicity’.
