Maria is a Senior Associate Partner at PLP Architecture, and a registered architect who has worked for architectural practices in London and Berlin and Hanover in Germany. Maria is currently responsible for the façade design of an office building in the city of London and previously worked on a major broadcast production building that will help realise the vision and strategic focus of a twenty-first century media campus in west London following her role on the detail design of the facades for the Technology Transfer Building and Office Building for Imperial West.
Previous experience in London ranges from the design of residential projects including new-build student housing developments for Unite; and the refurbishment and extension of both an Extra Care Home and two high-end mews houses, to a number of new-build and refurbishment projects for office developments including a partly retained facade in a Conservation Area, comprising a new build envelope and extensions, and a design proposal for a one million sqft new-build office development.
Other projects include retail fit-outs for Boots at Stansted and Gatwick Airports and extensions, refurbishments, feasibility studies and planning submissions for a number of supermarkets for Sainsbury’s and associated off-site new build apartments for the private and public sectors.
In Germany, Maria has contributed to the design of a new office and residential development in Hanover and the fit-out of the Clubhouse at the Ludwig-Erhard Haus which provides support facilities for the Chamber of Commerce and the Berlin Stock Exchange in Berlin. Maria is a qualified Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and has recently completed a Master degree, MSc in Sustainable Environmental Design at East London University. She received RIBA North West Advanced Diploma in Architecture Part III in 2002 and holds a Diploma in Architecture RIBA Part II from Westminster University and a BA (Hons) in Architecture RIBA Part I from South Bank University in London.
