Foshan New City Plaza

Foshan, China

This mixed-use masterplan and proposed tower have been designed to become a focal point of Foshan’s New Town. All the elements of the programme – offices, hotel, retail and SOHO-are gathered around an intimate central plaza that will become an important destination in the New Town.

Similar to the nearby new stadium, the organic form of the tower takes its inspiration from the lotus. The city planners particularly appreciated such reference to the city’s symbolism as Buddhism has played a very important role in Foshan’s history.
