Akis is a Senior Associate Partner at PLP Architecture with more than twenty years of experience across a range of sectors including residential, cultural, educational and healthcare in the Europe as well as the US. Akis currently sits on the team responsible for Chiltern Place, a new-build 15-storey residential building incorporating 55 luxury apartments and a new townhouse which replaces a 1960s office tower in Marylebone Village, Westminster.
Prior to joining PLP, Akis worked at various practices in London including at Hopkins Architects, where he was a key member of the team on the competition winning Cyprus Cultural Centre and on a 300,000 sq ft Chemistry Department Building for Princeton University in New Jersey. He has also worked on a number of residential projects for HTA Design including Phase 1 of the South Acton regeneration project which was shortlisted for a number of housing awards.
Akis completed his Architectural studies at the University of Manchester and postgraduate studies in European Property Development & Planning at the Bartlett School of Architecture. He is a registered architect in the UK and Cyprus and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
