Akif is a Senior Associate Partner who has worked for a number of architectural practices in London, Vienna and Istanbul before joining PLP Architecture in 2011.
Akif is a key team member for the mixed-use development at Nova, Victoria, responsible for the coordination of the structural design of the new office buildings on the island site to the north of Victoria Station, as well as the design development of the series of restaurant and café pavilions.
Akif has also contributed to the schematic design of a 500 metre-high landmark tower and mixed-use complex in the Pearl River Delta region of China. He focused on the development of the conceptual massing, the façade design and the coordination of area calculations, 3D representation and visual production.
His architectural and graphic design has both received recognition with first prizes for the Istanbul Camlica Hill Telecommunication Tower and for My Lucky Cloud for the Garanti Bank Flexi Credit Card Interface Design competition.
Awarded an AA Graduate Bursary, Akif completed his studies at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London in 2010, and graduated from Istanbul Technical University in 2007. He is a member of the Chamber of Architects in Turkey (TMMOB Mimarlar Odasi).
